Hoisted the `transitions == null` check out of the loop over `alphabetArray` in `Minimizer.java` by using `Arrays.fill(targets, -1)` when `transitions == null`. This micro-optimization prevents repeated null checks inside the loop and improves execution speed when building minimal DFA. To eliminate repeated and redundant null checks inside a hot loop during the minimization phase of DFA processing.
Impact:
Improves execution speed of the
splitGroupprocessing algorithm and decreases the time taken to iterate. Although a micro-optimization, it provides a localized performance boost during the creation of minimal DFAs with no regressions.Measurement:
Run
mvn test -Dmaven.compiler.source=21 -Dmaven.compiler.target=21 -Dmaven.compiler.release=21to verify that all functional correctness remains intact.
